I’ve been blessed with access to amazing technology which allows me to express myself in a myriad of ways. There’s almost too many ways to express myself. It becomes overwhelming. When I have an idea worthy of putting into some kind of action, even just writing it down, I’m faced with a dilemma. Where is the best place for this idea?
Some random thoughts on the social component, featured sections and other Apple Music components.
Advertising and Journalism are economic spouses, but they’re the antithesis to each other. It’s like any superhero you can think of and their counter villain shacking up together and expecting it to work over the long term. Advertising of course being the villain subverting people’s attention to blind consumerism while driving Journalism down to the lowest common denominator. Journalism, in a desperate attempt to stay alive, bought-in to the advertisers whims by offering up candy instead of stew.
I’m using Adobe Muse and WordPress with Genesis for anthonycuccia.com. Adobe Muse is the visual editor, or WYSIWYG, I’m using to design the majority of my website. An issue with Adobe Muse is the lack of CMS support so I married a subdomain (blog.anthonycuccia.com) to a WordPress install. It’ll look the same as the rest of the non-Wordpress parts of the website with some customization. I decided to go with the Genesis framework for my WordPress build because of it’s stability and tidiness.
As of now the website needs some work, but that’s okay. I don’t need it to be complete immediately. It’s a public visible project that I’ll continuously update with new projects as time goes on. I plan to add projects to my portfolio next. Afterward, I will learn more about Genesis and begin the blog customization.
